History/Physical:

20-year-old right-handed male.

Headache over past three weeks. History of IV drug use.

There is a lesion with a rim of intrinsic T1 high signal in the right parieto-occipital lobe (arrowheads).

Diagnosis: Inflammatory tissue with features of cerebral abscess wall

Mixed acute (polymorphonuclear, arrowhead) on chronic (mononuclear, arrow) inflammatory components.

Rod-shaped Gram-negative organisms (arrow).
