History/physical:

41-year-old left-handed female.

Mild low back pain.

There is a small lesion (*) in the thecal sac posterior to L3 vertebral body.  This displaces the cauda equina posteriorly (arrow).

Tx: Lumbar laminectomy and resection of lesion.

Diagnosis: Schwannoma

Compact areas demonstrate bundles and streams of elongated, serpiginous nuclei at times forming short, subtle pallisades (arrow).
